Personality Details:

The cutting-edge technology that is Metal Sonic is undoubtedly the most formidable foe of Sonic's. This metallic nightmare has always stood out as the greatest piece of technology Dr. Robotnik has ever conjured out of that intricate mind — not only because of its remarkable abilities and skills, but also because of its A.I. capabilities, which have proved that the creator should always be careful. Metal is so incredibly intelligent that at one point, it rebelled against Eggman, which is when its personality began to really show.
  
Metal Sonic, in spite of the lifeless and apparent lack of a personality it showed before its rebellion, is actually very cold-hearted and dominating, sentient traits that were (mostly) deleted from him by his creator's own hand. But even then, its original purpose held strong: Metal's ultimate desire is to finally prove to Sonic that he is the better half and kill that damn hedgehog once and for all. But all these times he has tried, Metal Sonic always fails in the end. You just can't stack up to the real thing.
