Literature Text

She walked through the pastures, alone, her blue dress clinging to her body like an otherworldly tapestry. Looking around her, she took in the scenery. Everything was peaceful. Animals grazed and kept watch over their young as they played, the trees shone brilliantly in the fading sunlight, and the cooling breeze played with her long, black hair, softly blowing it behind her. This area was ideal for what she sought to do.

Before she began, she took a deep breath to center herself and closed her eyes for a few moments…

It was here that I happened to see her. Instantly, I was taken aback by her radiant beauty and the aura of calm that shone off of her. So as not to disturb her, I remained where I was, watching by the trees silently.

After a few moments, her eyes flashed open with a bright, blue glow and she began to sing. Her voice was incredible and like noting I had ever heard before or would ever hear again. As she sung, I found myself quietly singing along with her, even though I did not understand the language, nor could I sing very well at all.

Her song continued as the sun began to set in the horizon. Soon, her aura began to shine brighter and more serenely, and her voice rose. I stopped singing at this point, because this surprised me. Once I did, she stopped singing also, though her aura did not diminish. The woman stood there quietly, hands clasped, eyes calm, like she was waiting for something.

I watched her like that for a minute or so, wondering what she was doing. Another three minutes passed before she let out a patient sigh…and looked directly at me. I froze, unsure of what to do. Did I disturb her? Should I leave? I nervously tried to think of something when she beckoned me to approach. With a bit of nervousness, I did so, stopping within four feet of her.

I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out; I was too enraptured by her to say anything. Fortunately, I did not have to, as she began to sing once more, motioning for me to join her. I did so, and as we sung together, the area surrounding us began to change. Her glowing aura, spread across the pasture like a plains fire, but gentle and with no harm done to anything.

We kept singing, and I got lost in her eyes…her lovely, beautiful eyes. My gaze continued downward to her tempting lips and her small, yet sturdy shoulders. …I dared not look at anything more.

All too soon, the song ended, and the field was silent again. We looked at one another for what seemed to be an eternity. Before I could stop myself, I stepped towards her, and quickly kissed her cheek.

What happened next?

That is a question only my Valentine can answer.

I wrote this for :iconelin-kuzunoha:. It was difficult, but I finished. I'm sure she'll like it.

Happy Valentine's Day, Elin.
